Scholastic Reading Timer - Free App of the Day

Just in time for summer!

Becoming a good reader requires practice, just like learning to play a sport or an instrument. The Scholastic Reading Timer app promotes reading practice by encouraging reading every day and most importantly, makes it fun! Use the Scholastic Reading Timer in two ways: in conjunction with the Scholastic Summer Challenge, where kids are given weekly reading goals and log their reading minutes to win virtual rewards, or as a fun and functional reading timer to use throughout the year. Either way, the power of reading is in the palm of their hands.

Features include:

• Time and log reading minutes with an interactive stopwatch
• Boost motivation to keep kids reading while school is out
• Help schools break the read for the world record
• Daily tips, articles and booklists for parents
